Challenge was set up by me, Lucy Allen in January of 2017 after I took redundancy and was looking for my next (ahem) Challenge!
I was fortunate enough to be asked by several people if I could help with their marketing needs and the answer was of course YES!
I soon realised that my ‘little black book’ of contacts that has been built up over 20 years in design and marketing was effectively a virtual team waiting to be used. So the idea started…
I chatted to some key contacts to form the base of the team and we all agreed it was a very workable, agile, cost-effective and modern way of running a creative marketing agency. So with the support of lots of people behind the scenes, to whom I shall be forever grateful, Challenge Marketing Group Ltd was formed.
To start, the ‘remote network agency’ concept was difficult for some to grasp. With Coronavirus, our concept became much easier to understand. No, we don’t have an office, we don’t need one. Yes, we all work remotely. We utlise a VAST network of subject matter experts to fulfill your needs. Traditional agencies, have to use who is sat in the room OR, scrabble around for an expert they don’t know and pay them over the odds. And who really pays the price for using inexperienced people or one-off experts?
Our team are specialist. All of them. The majority of our experience is in B2b. Global FinTechs and start-ups are our bread and butter but I also have a passion for sports marketing – basketball is my game. I have worked with a lot of various sports and love it.
I am now surrounded by my dedicated team, whom I admire and respect enormously. Thank you to you all.
If you haven’t noticed already, in the middle of our company name is my surname… chALLENge.
It is something my sister and I talked about with our Dad – “putting the ‘Allen’ in challenge”. When it came time to think of a name for my agency, there was never any doubt.
I also really like that it fits us and our mentality; we are ‘up for the challenge’ – we are brave, we are fun, we are ready!
Because of the nature of how we work, we are naturally organised, structured and all pull together. We work and play as a unified team or this wouldn’t work.
Everyone brings something to the party, turning individual talent and flair into a formidable unit. If we are only as strong as our weakest link; bring it on!
There is a mutual respect within our core team and beyond, we welcome input from each other and that reaps rewards in what we are able to achieve. There is no single louder voice, each have their role to play.
